I was born in 1941 and raised in Leavenworth, WA until leaving for college. From 1959 to 1964, I attended Seattle University, a Jesuit college, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. From 1964 to 1975, I worked for the US Forest Service and two private engineering companies, surveying, designing and constructing subdivisions, roads and utilities. From 1975 to 2000, I was an engineering and business manager for the City of Bellevue in public works and utilities, retiring December 31, 1999. Since retirement, I've provided consulting services to local public agencies. I'm very active and am a lifetime member in the American Public Works Association where I received a number of recognitions at the state and national levels for my efforts.
